The owners will pick you up on arrival in Oaxaca and offer a free ride to town on your first day (otherwise an M$80 taxi ride or M$10 by taxi colectivo). They’ll also tell you about good restaurants nearby. There’s a two-day minimum stay. What guests pay for the two neat B&B rooms and the attractive apartment here makes a contribution to running costs. All accommodations have fans, good bathrooms and wi-fi. Big discounts for monthly stays. The mostly adobe-built rooms boast good wooden furniture, though they lack fans or mosquito screens. The hostel owners will send a taxi to the bus station if you call on arrival. Once you’re here, they’ll tell you about buses to/from downtown. There’s no guest kitchen but there is a restaurant (M$35-65; 8am-7pm) with breakfasts and light dishes, plus an excellent swimming pool, a bar, a nice yoga room and a temascal (M$350 per person). HOLY MOLE Oaxaca’s multicolored moles (nut-, chili- and spice-based sauces) have become the region’s culinary signature.
